Adopt Me: Bear the Black Cocker Spaniel

Ever feel like when you see a dog or cat you just want to wrap your arms around him or her and not let go? Well that is what happens when you lay your eyes on Bear. Bear is a cute little black cocker spaniel in need of some good R&R. He needs a loving forever home.

When you read about the sad and horrible journey this cute guy has been on it makes your eyes water. Bear was recently rescued by Laura Nelson of Howard County from a kill shelter in West Virginia. Nelson brings dogs like Bear north to Maryland where she fosters them and searches for good future homes for the pups.

Nelson gives a detailed description on where Bear has come from and how he is around other dogs and his traits.:

“Bear is a 3-4 year old Black Cocker Spaniel.  He is an amazingly great dog with a super personality and very well behaved, especially considering his past.

“Although he is a beautiful looking dog, he was unfortunately clearly abused.  When he got neutered the vet said that someone burned his scrotum and he had to remove the whole thing.  The poor thing has been through a lot and still he has nothing but love to give.  He doesn't have an ounce of aggression in his body.

“He is housebroken and knows some commands.  He also knows his name is comes when called.  He has been playing with my other dogs off leash and has been fine.  He loves other dogs, is unaffected by my cats.  He does well around children as well.  He is a lovable little pup with just the right amount of energy and spunk.  He is crate trained well and goes right into his crate when I tell him to do so.  He is fully vetted.”

My wife and I are helping Laura find Bear a future home. If you are interested in having Bear be your friend then please contact me via email at tbakerpeace@gmail.com.
