Help Chic Communications Win A $250,000 Grant

Chic Communications (www.chicpr.com), a boutique firm specializing in public relations, marketing, special events and social media outreach located in Annapolis, has been entered to win a $250,000 grant sponsored by Chase Bank and LivingSocial in the Mission: Small Business contest.

Chic Communications, is owned by Kristin McMahon (who grew up in Fallston, Maryland and attended John Carroll High School in Bel Air) and Morgan McLoud (of Annapolis, Maryland who attend Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Maryland). This two and half year old Annapolis, Maryland based business has thrived in the this economy; dealing with luxury lifestyle and non-profit clients including: Robert Andrew- The Salon & Spa, The Maryland Green Designer Show Home & Baldwin Homes, Inc., ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Murphy Commercial Real Estate, The Italian Market of Annapolis, the Love for Luca organization, Hospice of the Chesapeake, and the American Heart Association.

 Offering full-service public relations and marketing including strategic planning, social media marketing, graphic design, and website development—this out of the box firm has shown their strength and is now ready to soar to new heights, with your help!

The initial hurdle to being considered for this grant is obtaining 250 votes by Saturday, June 30, 2012. Customers, family, friends, and other supporters are asked to cast their vote by going to missionsmallbusiness.com and clicking “Support” for Chic Communications (further directions below). Each time “Support” is clicked, $5 gets added to the grant pool. The goal is to raise $3 million dollars so that the 12 grants can be fulfilled.

The Chase and LivingSocial Mission: Small Business is an inaugural grant program where small businesses can submit an application to in order to be considered for a $250,000 grant. As stated above, the initial step is based on community votes, after passing this stage the businesses that make the “cut” will be judged by a panel of business experts.

 

The panel of judges evaluating the eligible small business include: Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes; Tim O’Shaughnessy, CEO and co-founder of LivingSocial; David Chavern, executive vice president and chief operating officer, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Chase and LivingSocial plan to announce the small businesses that have been selected as grant recipients by September 15, 2012.
