President Barak Obama has designated January as National Mentoring Month.   In his proclamation, the President says: “Every day, mentors help young Americans face the challenges of growing into adulthood. By setting a positive example and sharing their time, knowledge, and experience, mentors play an essential role in preparing our Nation’s youth for a bright future.”

Right now, there are children in our community who need a special friend and role model.  Jewish Community Services (JCS) needs more Big Brothers and Big Sisters to mentor these children.   A few hours a month is all it takes, and JCS provides training and support.
