I know it is not actually a park, but don't forget about the Loch Raven Reservoir area. Miles of trails, you can rent rowboats and canoes (cheap!), and the the road from Providence Road to Dulaney Valley road is closed on weekends for bike riding, walking, etc. Also, Cromwell Valley Park is right next door. Please note, NO SWIMMING in the reservoir and no bikes on the trails in Cromwell Valley Park.

Outdoors enthusiasts might like to know of a great local resource: The Natural History Society of Maryland. They offer nature-themed workshops and hikes for all ages and skill levels. Tonight (7/27) there's a "Songs of Insect Walk" in Overlea, where you can learn how to identify cricket and katydids (www.meetup.com/marylandnature).
