The winter that felt like spring has left me smacking my head at the thought that the heart of the steeplechase season is here already. 

The Elkridge-Harford Hunt Point-to-Point posts at 1:30 p.m. today in Monkton. Visit marylandsteeplechasing.com for all the details. Gates open at noon. With a sunny forecast with a high of 66 degrees, you couldn't ask for better conditions.
