BGE To Conduct Vegetation Management On Cromwell Bridge Road

The work will start in late October.

Baltimore Gas and Electric Company plans to start routine tree and vegetation management on Cromwell Bridge Road in late October.

In a news release, the utilities company said the work, which will be done along a 115,000 volt transmission line on the road, is mandated every 5 years by the Maryland Public Service Commission to reduce disruptions to electric service. The line serves about 50,000 customers in Towson, Parkville and Timonium.

The company first completed this vegetation management effort in 2007; and faced much criticism from area residents who were concerned about the environmental impact and limited public notice, according to The Baltimore Sun.

BGE representatives said customers were notified about the project through letters and an open house this time around, and the company will maintain communications with those whose property will be affected.

The project is slated for completion in three months.

better to have some trees cut down rather than have them fall on power lines during a storm and be out of power
