Cockeysville 7-Eleven Sells $250K Winning Lottery Ticket

The convenience store sold over $12,000 in tickets the day of the drawing.

The employees behind the counter at the 7-Eleven at 9707 Beaver Dam Road were surprised Saturday afternoon when they discovered they had sold one of the four $250,000 winning Mega Millions tickets that hit in Maryland

The winning ticket shouldn't come as a surprise, however, considering that just Friday the convenience store sold over $12,000 in tickets, said Elham Ali, a clerk of eight years at that 7-Eleven location. (See photo.)

Another employee, Ahmed Nassar, said he remembered selling 10 different people at least $100 worth of tickets.

The lucky local 7-Eleven is located on the border between Timonium and Cockeysville.

The chances of winning the $250,000 cash prize are 1 and 3,904,701, according to the Mega Millions website.

Three other winning tickets worth $250,000 were sold in Maryland—at a 7-Eleven on Harford Road in the city, at a Redner's Warehouse Market in Bel Air and in Boonsboro, according to lottery spokeswoman Erica Palmisano.

Patch will have more details as they become available.

I bought $112 worth of tickets at Button's Liquors on Ridgely Road and ended up with one ticket that had 4 of the 5 regular numbers and not the Mega Ball ($150.00) and one ticket with 1 regular number and the Mega Ball ($2.00) and another ticket with 2 regular numbers and the Mega Ball ($3.00). Then, in today's mail, I received a check for $14.00 from the state on my Mega-Millions subscription for last year. So I think I did pretty well with a total of $169.00.

You've just made my day. Now "do you feel lucky...Well do ya, punk?"

Will have to call you "Dirty Harry" from now on.
