Cockeysville Woman Pleads Guilty to Killing Mother

Sharon Caslow neglected her 91-year-old mother, leaving her on the toilet for two days.

Cockeysville resident Sharon Caslow faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of her 91-year-old mother, online court records show.

Caslow, 65, left her mother sitting on the toilet for two days before calling 911, on Jan. 17, 2012, according to police. Caslow lived with her mother, Aubrey Caslow, in the 1000 block of Hidden Moss Drive in Cockeysville.

Sharon Caslow pleaded guilty to manslaughter Tuesday. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27, according to The Sun.

Sharon Caslow told police at the time that she knew her mother was in the bathroom but did not summon for help, according to police. She was indicted by a Baltimore County Grand Jury in August.

Aubrey Caslow was taken into hospice care with injuries consistent with neglect. She died 10 days later from acute renal failure, as described in The Daily Mail.

Her daughter had been additionally charged with four counts relating to abuse and/or neglect, as well as reckless endangerment.

This is one of the saddest cases I have heard about in a long, long time. What this woman did to her mother was unforgiveable. Yet , until one experiences the trauma and constant stress of trying to care for an elderly parent it is impossible to understand the situation. May God have mercy on this woman's soul.
