The Creative Kids Community Center is hosting Cockeysville's sole National Night Out event Tuesday.

The celebration is intended to foster relations between the police and the community, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department. The Creative Kids' event, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at 25 Tradewind Circle, will feature a community carnival and kids' activities.

Elected officials, local celebrities and county civic groups will appear at National Night Out events across the county, the release reads.

Police also encourage residents to show their support by lighting blue candles in their windows, stringing up blue holiday lights and putting blue bulbs in their porch lights to cast a blue hue throughout the county.
