CRIME: Aluminum Stolen From Church

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Valleyfield Road, 8600 block, 10:34 p.m. on March 31. Five aluminum downspouts were stolen from Grace Lutheran Church.

This is the first case of aluminum theft reported in the Lutherville-Timonium area this year.

In 2011 however, Patch reported that the high prices of metal spurred a rise in copper theft along the York Road corridor. The Baltimore Sun wrote in early 2012, that three men were arrested and charged with conspiracy to steal $2.6 million worth of aluminum.
