Crime Log: More Guns Stolen Out of North County & Other Reported Burglaries
The following information regarding police activity in Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and North County was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.
Another week and another set—yes, as in multiple—guns were stolen from a North County home. The police report makes no mention of a safe.
But that wasn't the only major crime committed in Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and the communities comprising North County.
The majority of last week's reports came from burglaries of unlocked homes and cars.
Notable stolen items included a mini-bike, Apple products, the aforementioned guns, and prescription painkillers.
William Court, unit block, between 3 and 6 a.m., Jan. 21. A burglar stole cash out of an unlocked car. The culprit then used the garage door opener—found in the car. All told the thief made off with cupcakes, a Macy’s card, car keys and beer.
Henlock Court, unit block, between 3 p.m., Jan. 18 and 10 a.m., Jan. 19. A burglar rummaged through unlocked car, although it appears nothing was stolen.
Downes Road, 19400 block, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., Jan. 18. A burglar stole three handguns and an iPad after prying open a garage window latch in Parkton. This is the second instance in two weeks that unsecured guns were stolen from a North County home. The burglar stole a 6-inch Python handgun, 6-inch .44 Magnum, and a Dan Wesson .22 revolver.
Markoe Road, 16400 block, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Jan. 17. A burglar stole jewelry and cash out of an unlocked North County home. The individual stole jewelry from the master bedroom and cash from a child’s bedroom. No further information is known at this time.
Yeoho Road, 16500 block, between 6:30 a.m. and 4:55 p.m., Jan. 17. A burglar removed an electric meter from an electric box belonging to a Sparks home. The individual proceeded to break side door glass to get inside before stealing an unspecified amount of jewelry from the master bedroom.
Sweet Air Road, 4800 block, between 6:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Jan. 17. A burglar stole jewelry and an iPad out of a Phoenix home. It is unspecified how the burglar broke inside.
Hutchins Mill, 16200 block, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Jan. 16. A burglar stole a ceramic jar filled with coins, Oxycodone pills and earrings out of an unlocked Monkton home.
Rainflower Path, unit block, between 8 p.m., Jan. 15 and 9:12 a.m., Jan. 16. A burglar stole an unspecified amount of cash out of an unlocked Sparks home.
Manor Knoll Court, unit block, between 10:15 p.m., Jan. 15 and 8:20 a.m., Jan. 16. A burglar took a hammer out of an open garage and proceeded to break the windows of two cars. The burglar (and vandal) stole a purse out of one of the cars.
Manor Knoll Court, unit block, between 11:30 p.m., Jan. 15 and 7:30 a.m., Jan. 16. A burglar stole a mini-bike out of an unlocked garage.
Fox Chase Court, 18800 block, 11 p.m., Jan. 13. A burglar stolen Oakley sunglasses out of a car parked in a garage. It is unclear how the burglar broke inside.
