Crime Log: Police Report Sharp Drop in Burglaries
The following information regarding police activity in Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and North County was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

The number of reported burglaries in the Cockeysville and North County areas dropped sharply during the past two weeks, police incident summaries show.
There were only two reported burglaries reported in the area last week, after averaging about eight a week since the start of the new year.

The decrease follows police increasing patrols in affected areas, particularly the Jacksonville sector of North County. Police reported making two critical arrests in late January they believe will lead to solving more than a dozen area burglaries.
Meanwhile, there were no reports of major crimes in Lutherville-Timonium.

Crime Log
Prettyboy Dam Road, 18300 block, between 12:45 and 1:05 p.m., Feb. 7. A man called the police to report that his 18-year-old son and a friend were trying to get into his house. The son had been kicked out of his father's home over a year ago. The father saw that his son had his hand on the doorknob to his old home, although no pry marks were found at the scene. There was no reason given for why the son was on his father's property. The son admitted to police that he and a friend crossed the property line en route to this own residence. There were no thefts nor charges made.
Nicolas Lane, 600 block, between 5 and 11 p.m., Feb. 4. A burglar stole a woman’s purse and car keys after breaking into her home through an unlocked garage door.

That may be true for Jacksonsville, but Cockeysville has gotten worse. I was the victim of a car break-in, nothing has been done about my case. They didn't even fingerprint nor has anyone contacted me even though I requested a call from the Captain himself who said he would call me after I went to my local Delegate. Nothing can ever take away the damage that has been done being the victim of a crime, but it would help to know that there was more lighting being put in place or more patrols. We live in Cockeysville off Cranbrook Road and it is horrible. Beatings, robberies, you name it up here. The police simply don't care. All they care about is pulling you over for a speeding ticket to make their quotas.

I would like to add that they did follow up with me and I do feel like something is being done; it is just so disconcerting to know that these criminals are out there floating around looking for prey like myself.
