Driver Accused of 'Crushing' Woman Over White Marsh Parking Spot

Police have arrested an Edgewood woman, who they say became violent after a dispute over a parking spot.

Baltimore County police arrested a woman accused of striking two other women with her vehicle, after a fight over a parking spot at the Avenue at White Marsh on Friday night.

Police identified the driver involved as Brandy Tennille Ames, 35, of the unit block of Harr Park Court in Edgewood. She was charged with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and multiple traffic violations, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said Monday afternoon.

Follow Perry Hall Patch on Facebook and Twitter.

At about 8:25 p.m. on Sept. 14, a woman, driving her 2009 Volkswagen Jetta along with her adult daughter, entered the Avenue at White Marsh parking lot near Staples on the Honeygo Boulevard side. They saw a woman, identified by police as Ames, cursing and waving her arms from inside of a 1998 black Oldsmobile. Ames accused the driver of the Volkswagen of taking her parking spot and blocked them inside the parking spot, according to a police report.

The daughter exited the Volkswagen and approached Ames, who punched her in the face, according to police. Ames then drove directly into the daughter, "crushing" her between the Oldsmobile and a Nissan Sentra, according to a police report. "The female continued to push the gas pedal for what seemed like five minutes … while numerous people gathered, screaming at the female driver to stop," as stated in a police report.

Ames then drove into another woman, who was taking pictures of her, before fleeing the scene, police said.

When police arrived, the first victim who was struck, a 24-year-old woman, was "laying on the ground in the parking lot, screaming in agony … unable to speak due to her pain," according to the police report.

The first victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with a possible broken leg and broken ankle. The second victim received minor injuries.

Based on several witness accounts, police identified and arrested Ames on Monday at 7:30 a.m. Ames is currently being held on $1 million bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to Batton.

Patch first reported the dispute around 10 p.m. on Friday night, drawing a passionate response from community members.

Capt. Mike Balog of the White Marsh police precinct urged drivers to be patient and "behave like adults" while navigating area parking lots.

It didn't occur to anyone there to, I dunno, maybe pull the driver out of the car?

I'd even consider (I stress, consider) punching through her driver window if I had to, at some point along the way to force her out of the car.

ParkvilleHoney: You're right, but I'm just not sure I could sit there and watch her do that. Maybe it really was just 5-10 seconds, that goes quickly.

Back in college, one time a woman hit a student crossing a university road downtown on the VCU campus. Myself and about 3 other guys chased her car down about 5 blocks away when she was finally forced to stop at a light and opened her door for her right then and there. I suppose I could've been shot and killed then, too. However, it's just what I felt I needed to do at the time. That person who was hit was probably lucky to have just gotten a broken ankle from the collision.

I'm not suggesting I'd spring right into action or anything, but I couldn't personally just sit and watch this happen if it were anything resembling an extended period of time, that's all.

What is so sad about this is that this type of activity has only increased over time. With the closing of um, some other "local places", the Avenue has become a choice destination, leaving people who are local at the mercy of trash such as this woman is. Her one million dollar bond speaks for itself. I hope she sees hard jail time and the ruination of her freedom and finances. Garbage. I don't care what words are said, nothing justifies trying to murder someone over a parking space.

There are many people who think they are "entitled" to parking spots, but no one is entitled. It's first-come, first-served and yes, some people are inconsiderate about it. You have to decide which battles to pick. In overcrowded neighborhoods, neighbors fight fiercly over parking spots. Some residents feel because a spot on the street is in front of their home, they own it. In fact, most streets are county/city public parking--no one owns a parking spot--whether it's in the front of your home or not. My point is, there is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Put this woman behind bars in the zoo! She really is a barbaric animal. She may as well lifted her leg and peed on the spot to claim it. Unfortunately, there are many people like this. There have been stories of people shooting each other over parking spots. Proud to say I'm not one of them. Don't the jerks realize it's just not worth it?

I've seen plenty of garbage up there in the evening...enough to keep me away. I like to do a lot of shopping there and I've scaled back. Perhaps when merchants see a decline in sales and the management company sees tenants leaving due to the garbage floating in on buses and in their cars, they will put an end to it. They lost my movie revenue years ago along with many I know due to no ushers or control. People like the woman photographed above attend the movies; violent, vicious, foul-mouthed and looking for a fight. I have a family member who was assaulted for asking someone to stop kicking her chair for over an hour. The person poured a soda on her head and used a closed fist to punch down on her. It will continue until it winds up like all the other surrounding areas that are infected.

It will be up to the Baltimore County Courts to put a stop to this destructive criminal behavior. If losers know they will suffer consequences like jail time for criminal behavior, they may just curtail this type of behavior. Baltimore City Courts are a joke. It is a revolving door for criminals. I hope Baltimore County doesn't follow suit.

We can thank liberal laws that parents and schools can't correct kids. I grew up knowing negative behavior would result in a punishment from teachers or my parents. Guess what, I didn't act out in a negative way! I was scared of the consequences. Today, there are no consequences for negative behavior. I wonder what kind of household Ms Ames was raised in. Apparently it was OK to maim because you don't like what someone does to you. I sure Ms Ames felt disrespected, so she has the "right" to defend herself. Give me a break!

Parkvillehoney I agree with you about parents not correcting their kids but have you seen some of the rules teachers have to follow now so not to hurt a students feelings or upset their parents.
I have lst lots of parking spots (had my turn signal on and everything) and I have no problem saying something to the ignorant person who raced into the spot I had been waiting for but I would never think of hurting someone. I was at The Avenue waiting on a spot, turn signal on, handicapped permit correctly displayed in my window when someone came the oppisite way cut me off and took the spot just barely letting the woman pull out of the spot. When I said something to them they said they have a handicapped permit and their mother needs a wheelchair to get around. Since they needed the spot more then me ( I have damage to my legs but don't need a wheelchair yet) I let it go but asked them to be more careful since we could have been in an accident. They smiled and said thank you. As I was waiting for another spot 4 people got out of that car all the same age and none of them used a wheelchair. They were having a good laugh and I felt like a fool because I had tried to be nice. Unless I see the person a getting out of the car into a wheelchair, walker, or worse off then me I don't give up spots anymore because of that happening.

So the solution is for decent people to stay inside their homes and let the animals take over? I should be able to go there anytime I want and not be subjected to this piece of rot coming after me or someone in my family. What if the woman she attempted to murder was pregnant? What if she was holding a baby? She should be charged with attempted murder in the FIRST degree. She had motive and intent. Put me on the jury, because goodness knows a jury of HER peers would let her go.

@Perry Hall Parent, I think residents of Perry Hall should go to the next community meeting held by White Marsh police precinct and ask Capt Mike Balog or his representative. To me, this behavior is attempted murder with intent. An automobile is just as deadly as a gun or knife. It should not be 1st degree assault. I also hope I am picked for a future jury trial.

Let me be certain you know what I said.
I didn't say, or intend to say, I'd strike the driver above.

What I said, or intended to say, is that if this went on for more then a few seconds, I'd very likely take measures to stop the driver. If her window was closed, I'd punch it open. All in an attempt to end this virutally violent assault.

I would not voluntarily strike the woman above, under any circumstance. I would do what I could to prevent her from continuing the assault.

Just want my original comment to be clear.

The "rights" we have in Maryland would not allow you to legally protect this woman being crushed, with a firearm. Curiously, by almost any other means there would never be a prosecution by any SA.
You would be taking your chances in court with uo to a murder charge if you shot this animal. But if you slammed a brick upside her head like Reginald Denny had, your chances of being prosecuted would be slim. Maybe in the city.

Doesn’t the states attorney bring the charges on the case with the evidence that they were presented by the police department. They can also always bring additional charges. I believe they probably wanted to charge her quickly with something so she stays in jail, then after they can make sure they have a case, they can charge her with additional crimes. If they charge her too quickly, with not enough evidence and they need to reduce the charges they cannot bring the charges back up (double jeopardy).

I do not know if this is the case currently, but I think everyone needs to calm down, as she is behind bars where she belongs and will probably face additional charges.

Parkvillehoney & Tim, it's more than just a matter of letting fear control my life. Without going into any major details, I didn't think I was going to make it home alive when I was stalked, on my way home, by the second whacko I encountered at the mall. People are absolutely crazy, and I wasn't aware that I had done anything to this person other than I was driving the speed limit and he wasn't happy. I was honestly fearful that my car was going to be run off the road, and that my dead body was going to be found in the woods someplace. When that kind of fear hits, it takes along time to get over. For me, it's easier to travel and do my shopping in safer areas.

My next goal is for our family to get the heck out of Dodge. We may not be able to do so until my husband retires. But, I'm not staying in Perry Hall.

I had a similar incident in the Walmart parking lot in Perry Hall a couple of summers ago.I started backing out of a spot first with my toddler son in the car when another woman started backing up almost hitting my driver side door.I had enough room to get out and ask her to please move up so I can leave without hitting her vehicle since I was already in the lane.I explained that I needed to get my son with a heart condition home to keep him out of the heat. She screamed that she hoped my child burned in hell and proceeded to back into my car door. People in the lot started screaming for her to stop because there was a child in the car. She screamed out her window to the crowd, "F*** you, Im a guard at Central Booking!" When I went to get back into my car, she backed into the door also attempting to crush me between the door and the vehicle. I slipped into my vehicle in time for her to bump into my vehicle a couple more times before making her way into the lane to beat me out of the lot. I called the police with 3 witnesses, nobody could come for an hour so I had to go home with my son and wait. The officer responded to my home with an attitude saying that the woman called and blamed me. I gave the officer 3 witness names and numbers and asked her to pull the Walmart tape footage.I never heard from the police again and the thought that she could give a pack of smokes to an inmate and my address while my kids are playing outside scared me.Her address-Sec 8 Chapel Apartments.

That Walmart is another place I won't shop. It's sad that I don't feel safe patronizing any local businesses. Since the carjacking attempt at the Safeway, a couple of years ago, I rarely even go grocery shopping alone around here.

It's also sad that we probably won't be able to move from the area until my husband retires. Perry Hall, and the local surrounding areas, have really disintegrated in the almost 30 years we have lived here. But extending his commuting time, and the expense of doing so, just doesn't make sense right now.

However, I don't want to reach my senior years and be stuck here. It is going to be nothing but an extension of Baltimore City. It's absolutely ridiculous that hard working people have to spend most of their lives, and savings, to constantly relocate to escape the trash and crime that seem to infiltrate communities.

Give more and more to poor people and take and take from middle class workers. In my mind, more than 1/2 of the poor can work their way into middle class. My family did, we weren't born well off. Ms Ames had a good job at the Department of Juvenile Services and on her line resume stated she has a BS from Coppin State University. She is no dummy. She just feels entitled like a lot of her race.

Wow! I knew eventually someone would turn this thread into a topic of race. That's how it always goes whenever one party just happens to be a minority. Y'all ought be ashamed of yourselves for even allowing yourselves to lean in that direction. Ignorance, fear and hate is still alive in America and you wonder why minorities continue to feel disenfranchised This is a case of a sociopath acting out. Pure and simple - case closed And she should be held accountable for her actions to the fullest extent of the law. But sad to say, this kind of stuff happens all the time with aggressors of all races, genders, religions, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backgrounds etc. Hate to say it, but white people commit these kinds of crimes as well. Please don't kid yourselves into believing these acts are isolated to minorities. They just don't always make the front page of the news papers. Do yourselves a favor and reread your posts objectively. See for yourselves how they are teeming with all sorts of hidden and overt racists overtones. Why must we always resort to race...a stupid social construction. Can we not elevate our conversations to a deeper, more meaningful, productive level?

Ok, I'll call your comment and say my peace. I grew up in Gardenville near Sipple Avenue. When I did, the neighborhood was about 99% white. There was no crime, beautifully landscaped yards, neighbors were cooperative, helpful and kept an eye out for the many children playing outside until well after the street lights came on. Everyone took care of their homes and yards and never a piece of garbage was to be found. Drive through there today? The neighborhood is less than 10% white. There is trash everywhere, overgrown lawns, the alleys are full of trash, the corners are populated with groups of people with no jobs, jobless sitting on porches, doing nothing in the middle of a workday with an overgrown lawn, cars up on blocks, trash blowing around. Explain to me why this change has happened? Why are their blue light cameras on Bel Air Road in that area? Why are there drive by shootings off of Frankford Avenue? If it isn't about race, then what is it? My family fled that area when blacks murdered a man and left his dead body in the woods behind my home. We knew it was time to leave. It's called "White Flight" for a reason. When blacks take their culture to a "deeper, more meaningful, productive level" and stop giving people reasons to make comments such as these, then perhaps people will stop. How many murders and shootings were there in the city over the past two weeks? How many in White Marsh?

Ethan, it may be sad, but stereotypes are based on truth. If you polled 100 people who heard about this incident before they saw a picture of the suspect, what do you think the majority of people would have answered as the suspect’s race? I know I was expecting a Jewish man, but you know I based that on all of the mobs of Jews taking over Baltimore in March.

Ethan, with all undue respect, when one "race" is responsible for a highly disproportionate amount of these incidents, what is one to think? When the prisons are filled with a highly disproportionate amount of blacks what are we to think?
We think there is something else beside race at play. Perhaps fatherlessness and uncaring mothers. Perhaps you should turn your hate toward the men who father and leave so many damn children to the care or uncare of their mothers.

I am so sick of people thinking they are entitled to everything, including parking spots! The Edgewood community breeds crime, violence, and drugs. When those homes were first built just past Joppa Rd, it was nice, until the City imploded the high rise towers and moved the trash out to Edgewood. Rednecks? Sure, they stand their ground, cling to their guns and religion, and hate pandering for political correctness. I say the proof is in the pudding. Call a spade a spade. Just saying. The Route 40 corrider (the old Giant) and Harford Square Area are really the problem areas where people are shot every other day. Those areas are the section 8/lower income--moved in from the city. The facts don't lie. However, there are still hard working, educated people who still live in Edgewood. :)

Just because someone lives in a Section 8 area it doesn't make them bad, all it means is they are paying less on rent. I have relatives that lived in section 8 apartments, I have neighbors that are considered section 8 and none of them are bad- everyone stop grouping people on section 8 as all bad people. I was on medical assisitance while I was pregnant because my husband and I couldn't afford both the cost of a high risk pregnancy and to care for a child. The only bills the medical assisitance covered were my pregnancy bills, I paid the rest of my medical bills (dentist, primary care doc, prescriptions, etc) in payments til they were paid in full. Since I was getting state help to pay my medical billls for my pregnancy does that make me bad, no it does not.

I have been holding off saying much about this incident because, every time I point out the obvious, I get flamed on these boards being called a racist and a bigot. However, it looks like this time not everyone's head is stuck in the sand. Statistics don't lie. As long as the media and the naive public refuse to recognize the problem it will only get worse. We have a group within our midst with a high percentage of psychopaths who, often, are not held accountable. They encourage their uncivilized actions in their music and culture. The rest of civilization around them must tiptoe lightly in words and deeds for fear of setting them off into a violent frenzy. There is no prosperous, successful country on earth that is controlled by this group, yet, through some sense of guilt for slavery, that even their own people practiced, we let this group take over our culture. I understand that there are many shining exceptions. These exceptions should take responsibility to change this culture. Unfortunately, they usually join the "white flight" and ignore the problem too.

Mr. Thomas, I'm a lifelong resident of Edgewood. It wasn't always bad. The last 25 years has seen an overflow of section 8/low income programs made available to the inner city poor. I actually suspect that our government has lined the pockets of builders and targeted the Edgewood area. I'm afraid to say, for fear of word getting out, but there are still a few nice areas left with hard working and educated folks. A few years ago, a lifelong Edgewood native, was run down on a crosswalk near his home and the Edgewood Middle School. The driver was an off duty black police officer, making a turn and ran him and his dog over. He died. The county was not going to press charges. His family had to fight and fight hard to get charges brought against her. So, the justice system almost failed them. The black women still got a slap on the wrist.

She failed to provide information relating to the accident. I think that we should all call the local news and demand the run this story. We should question why the charges are not attempted murder. A vehicle is a deadly weapon and she intentionally ran over two people and left as if nothing happened. There is no excuse for this. We as a community need to pressure the police to increase the charges.

Passenger attacked on Metro train

A Metro passenger has been sent to the hospital after being slashed in the face by a woman on a Red Line train Monday night.

According to Metro, the male victim was on his cell phone when the woman sitting behind him confronted the victim and started attacking him.

The victim and alleged attacker did not know each other.

Police were alerted about the incident by the train operator while the train was still moving.

Police took the woman into custody after waiting at the Silver Spring station platform for the train to arrive. Authorities say the suspect will undergo a psychological evaluation.

These kinds of feeling of entitlement, which this is, are not the limited to these kinds of citizens. It seems to have infiltrated into the Political class as well. We saw it locally and now this:
"Reprimanded Rep Retaliates, Former staffers would 'rather be at war in Afghanistan"

"Representative Laura Richardson (D., Ca) has come under scrutiny from the House Committee on Ethics again for allegations of retaliation and intimidation against staffers who cooperated in a completed ethics probe into Richardson, according to Politico.

The panel warned the California Democrat that it is continuing its investigation into her operation and could turn the House probe over to the Justice Department if the accusations prove true.

On Aug. 2, the full House, acting on the Ethics Committee’s recommendation, unanimously voted to reprimand Richardson for improperly pressuring her government staff to work on her campaign — a big no-no for federal officials. She was also reprimanded for using official House resources, including aides, for personal errands, as well as obstructing the ethics investigation. She was fined $10,000.

But even after this official punishment, the committee continued to receive allegations of misconduct by Richardson, after she accepted the rebuke on the House floor in a dramatic scene just before Congress left Washington for its annual August recess."

You want to live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood with good schools? Then WORK AND SAVE like the rest of us do, do not ask me to subsidize your standard of living above what YOU can provide for yourself. I am happy for my taxes to go to house someone unable to work in minimal housing but I am NOT willing to subsidize able bodied persons who have other spending priorities than housing.

THE GRAVEYARDS ARE FULL OF PEOPLE WHO HAD THE RIGHT-OF-WAY! These animals would have no problem pulling out a weapon - whether that would be a knife or a gun. If the teenagers are followed by security down there and are WATCHED, then these adults must be watched as well. INTIMIDATION is what this is all about. Outsiders who do not live in White Marsh or Perry Hall trying to intimidate people. I usually park on that lot every Friday and Sat so that I can watch the concerts. Friday I skipped it all together and Saturday, instead of going right to my car which was parked there, I decided to walk to Pier One and shop. GOOD THING I WASN'T THERE TO WITNESS THIS! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE OF A SCENE.

I am with Tim on this one. Someone should have pulled this scum bag out of her car or pounded her into unconsciousness to stop her. If she had a gun she would have already used it. In States that do not violate our right to protect ourselves this could have been ended rather quickly by an armed citizen, most likely without shooting her. At least Maryland is on their way to being prevented from violating that right now that a federal court has ruled that their concealed carry restrictions are unconstitutional. And what the heck is wrong with our laws that prevents her from being charged with attempted murder? Crushing someone between two cars and continuing to apply pressure could easily kill someone.

People are scared. It used to be if you want to buy something, go to a movie, or just window shop...you did it, and enjoyed those times incident free. Now, between the animals and the out of control youths, we do a considerably less amount of those things. Look, our laws actually protect them and they are the ones breaking the law. In the case of this BEAST that hit these people, she should have been knocked out where she sat. THAT is the way you deal with someone who is trying to hurt people for insane reasons of their own. BUT NO...whoever should rise to this hero status, would himself be locked up for assault. Please, don't be idiots....you know I am correct. Criminals and Beasts of the wild, like this gem, can only be dealt with by utilizing an equal reaction. This is how they are controlled. No one wants to get that involved......all scared...either of being injured (gun, fight, or just embarrassment) or of having to deal with being charged by an unfair judicial system. We need a presence at Honeygo and in the Mall of individuals who are not afraid to act when one of the "bad guys" begin to act as they innately are.

Vigilanteism. That's a real solution......NOT!

If this would have been in a Gun Nutter state the lady in the car could have shot the woman who approached her car. All she would have to say is that "She felt threatened" (Which is probably going to be her defense anyway)

Vigilanteism (sic) vigilantism

Vigilantism is not acting to save someone from immediate harm. I don't expect you to know the definition since you can't even spell it.

No one would call someone who saved the life of a person by any means necessary a "vigilante". A hero maybe, but only you would call them a vigilante.

vigilantism is not defined by saving someones life from immediate harm. Strike 2.
"any person who takes the law into his or her own hands, as by avenging a crime. "

One day you will actually read your own "supportive" link. Someone saving someone else from immediate danger is not "taking the law into your own hands" OR "avenging a crime". It is merely saving someone from a crime.

I'll wait for your strike 3.

I grew up by Herring Run Park and it was safe as can be and mixed with all races too during the 70s-80s. The whole system has failed lawful citizens and made laws more and more to protect the criminals; hence, I believe we are where we are today since the 80's outbreak of criminal rights and victims wrongs. PC nation = criminal freedoms.

Because laws nowadays hurt Good Samaritans more than the actual criminals. In these times either a Good Samaritan gets shot, stabbed, serious hurt, or attacked by thug family members trying to eliminate the witness OR the criminal sues them for wrongful injuries OR the police arrest the Good Samaritans for assault or unlawful detention of a citizen (the criminal). Laws need to change, police need to change policies and actions, and ambulance chaser lawyers need to have serious restrictions placed on them!

I was a Good Samaritan once a few years ago and I ended up becoming the target of a rogue Baltimore County detective hell-bent on advancing his career through criminally unjust actions and false allegations trying to tie my Good Samaritan voluntary actions and observed information to a crime. Today he is "retired" = forced retirement due to an internal investigation proving his criminal activities and corruption. Who knows why he did it? But I will never help out if I witness a criminal event again. Call the police and let it ride. I thank the system for these crimes being hard to solve and hard to find witnesses or someone willing to help.

6:17 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2012

The sad thing is ...she will probably get off with a slap of the wrist and be back out on the streets to hurt someone else very soon. The courts are a revolving door for career criminals and they don't wake up one day and suddenly become a criminal. It happens over time. There's a bumper crop of people out there who don't value life -- yours or even their own. They feel like society owes them something. They feel that in some way they have been "wronged." They are angry and you better not get in their way. Experiencing few consequences for their behavior, these folks get worse. The courts are no help. There are countless victims and families of victims who get no justice. The system is terribly broken and until more people in positions of power lose a loved one to violence or themselves are a crime victim, nothing whatsoever will be done. I'm so disgusted.

No doubt there's risk involved. Like I said from the very top of this thread, it's not like I'd jump in and get involved immediately. I'm not going to sit here and suggest I would. You yell/try to reason with the person.
I mean, we're all speculating on what actually happened based on this report which could be factually inaccurate. She could have been pinned for just a few seconds.
The article, however, seems to say something more then this, though.

However, at some point when all reason doesn't work, and someone is getting SERIOUSLY harmed, good people need to do something.
It's not a gender thing, either. Remember Chrissy Lee Polis? An old lady intervened. She wasn't some physically fit young man who was reasonably confident he could intervene with marginal risk.

Her driving priviledges should be suspended for a given amount of time ( along with other consequences ). She was putting her life in danger ( and others ) over a parking spot. How stupid ? It has happened to everyone and I will bet she has taken the spot another was waiting for as well. It has happened to me and I just look for another. I wasn't happy about it but these things happen. After reading all the comments everyone who comments that dealt with race, finance, racial remarks, etc. Are just a bad as this young lady you just comment on you just do yours in secret and behind close doors. Adult bullies and have just as much anger, sin and injustice in your heart as the next man who lets his be known - no matter the color or finanical staus. That is why we live in a society were the heart of the man is more important to God than anything material, titles, etc. And every knee will bow down to answer every word and thought that judges somone else's action and then think yours is smaller or less than. Every action of man is considered the same in God's eyes. Man just creates laws to justify one to another actions. Both God will judge us all with money, without money, where you live in Harford County, what title you carry, etc. So remember before you judge and condem take the log out of your eyes while you trying to point out your neighbor's speck.

To Needaname: Handicapped permits are only suposed to be displayed if parking in a handicqapped parking spot, it even says on the top of the permit "Important: please remove before driving vehicle". I am going to pass on some advice that a police officer gave me, don't display your placard in the window or dash if you aren't using a handicapped parking spot, they are worth $50.00 on the street and he had seen many car windows smashed so people could steal them. A lot of people throw them on the dash when they pull out of the spot but he said to leave them somewhere people can't see them. I think it is very nice of you to leave the handicapped spots for someone else when you don't feel you need the spot, I try to when I can but those days are getting fewer.

Ms Ames needs to be held responsible for her actions. She is a college educated person, has held good jobs and should know right from wrong. There is no logical reason why she should have acted in this vicious manner. I think she felt entitlement and she was going to get her way, come hell or high water. @Daughter, No matter what was going on in Ms Ames life, this behavior is criminal. There are many times, I wanted to "mow someone down" for an injustice. Guess what, I only thought it in my head, it NEVER resulted in physical action. That is the difference. Any normal person would not react with this criminal behavior. Now she will suffer the consequences of her behavior. Sad way to mess up her life because she felt someone did her wrong.

Sadly enough my Walmart incident was enough for me to see the current trend. House on the market...we moved to the shore. I want to raise my kids with a chance to not become racist because all black people don't act this way all over the world and I'm tired of the reverse discrimination that we have been exposed to. I wish I knew what to do to make people appreciate life- their own and others- but you can't teach that. And you can't provide housing in areas that have those values and expect to change those that weren't raised that way. It just creates animosity.
