Usher in the fall season with Crazy Colors Campfire, opening weekend at the Pumpkin Patch, a performance of Charlotte's Web and more.
When/Where: Sept. 17, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Piney Run Park and Nature Center, 30 Martz Road, Sykesville, MD.
Why Go: The change of seasons brings us new events to celebrate the colors and cycles of the year. Enjoy the beautiful foliage while the campfire warms the group. Taste smores, hot cocoa and hot cider and welcome fall in a perfect crisp evening.
Price: $7
When/Where: Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clark's Elioak Farm, 10500 Clarksville Pike Ellicott City, MD 21042
Why Go: If you don’t go, you’ll go out of your gourd. On this farm the little ones sometimes get to ride in the driver seat of the tractor and help steer the group to the pumpkin vines out in the fields. There will be face painting and crafts for the family to create. Also enjoy an animal petting farm and shop their fresh produce.
Price: $5
When/Where: Sept. 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at St. Timothy's School, 8400 Greenspring Avenue, Baltimore, MD.
Why Go: What a tangled web we weave when we don’t share this enchanting tale with our kids. Friendship, love and adventure are brilliantly illustrated with this story’s classic themes. Follow the story about a pig, his young girl, and a special spider friend who will inspire you.
Price: $13 in advance, $15 at the door
When/Where: Sept. 15, 16, 17 and 18, Thursday and Friday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, 1450 Generals Hwy. Rt. 178 - Crownsville, MD 21032.
Why Go: This fair has something that none of the others do—namely, rides, animals, awesome foods, music and entertainment. Well, on second thought, maybe other fairs have these things too, but this one is all set to show you a good time and let you discover the fun and excitement you deserve.
Price: 16 and over $6, ages 8-15 $4, 7 and under free
When/Where: Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Pier Six Concert Pavilion, 731 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21202.
Why Go: Laurie Berkner is a leader in the new progressive “kindie” rock genre. It’s more rock music with catchy sing-a-long lyrics and less watered down tunes and lyrics.
Her band’s musical act is energetic and entertaining. According to Laurie, "When I'm writing a song, I'm thinking about whether the kids will like it and whether I'm going to connect to them through it. I'm also thinking about whether I want to sing it over and over again, so I guess that's the part that connects with adults. 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' is a great song for kids, but I couldn't sing it 100 times!"
Price: $20 and up
