Hunt Valley Best Buy To Close
Hunt Valley Towne Center and Inner Harbor locations will close as part of national plan.
Best Buy announced today that it plans to close its Hunt Valley Towne Center and Inner Harbor stores as part of the big box retailer's national plan to shutter 42 locations.
Employees were notified this morning of the closures and will be offered transfers to other stores if they want to remain with the company or severance packages if they choose to leave, according to a press release. By the end of the year, Best Buy will have closed 50 stores.
"This was not an easy decision to make." the company stated in a press release. "We chose these stores carefully, and are working to ensure the impact to our employees will be as minimal as possible, while serving all customers in a convenient and satisfying way. But we also recognize the impact this news has on the people who deserve respect for the contributions they have made to our business."

I never really understood why they opened another store so close to the Timonium-Lutherville store.

Looks pretty obvious to me why they closed. It's at the end of the Light Rail line. They and the Baltimore City store probably had too much loss to shoplifting.

This comment makes no sense. The Lutherville-Timonium store is located on a on a major bus line that runs every 15 minutes ( that's more often than the light rail) and it remains open. The Woodlawn store is also located at a major transfer for a number of bus lines, yet its not closing either. Please stop smearing transit users with unfounded claims.
