Officers Involved in Beltway Motel Shooting Identified
Two officers are on routine administrative leave during the investigation of an Aug. 29 shooting of naked man with assault rifle.

Baltimore County police have identified the two officers involved in the shooting of a naked armed man at the Beltway Motel early Wednesday morning.
According to police spokesperson Cpl. Cathleen Batton, Officer Kovacevich, a five-year veteran, and Officer Neal, a three-year veteran, are both are assigned to patrol units at Precinct 1/Wilkens.
Both officers are on routine administrative leave during the investigation of the shooting, according to officials.
Baltimore County police do not release the first names of officers in police-involved shootings per an agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Batton said.
The suspect, a 42-year-old man who was reportedly firing an assault rifle from his second-floor room, remains hospitalized at University of Maryland, Batton said.
Charges have not yet been filed against the suspect, and police have not released his name.

Kudos to the officers involved in this shooting. Any imbecile who decides to discharge a firearm anywhere other than at an approved, legal, and safe shooting facility deserves whatever happens to him/her. I'm awaiting the suspect's full name and age so that I can check him out on the MD Judiciary Case Search database. Chances are good that this is not his first run in with the police.

Proud of the fine job these officers performed on this ahole that decided to open fire in public. And for anyone that wishes to blame the offiers for this, may I suggest that you post this Tool's bail, be willing to put this upstanding citizen up in your home and nurse him back to health so that he gains his strength back and is ready to stand trial.

14 yrs. on Death Row is Hell on Earth. Kelly, you might get some knowledge about the prison system by contacting a Priest or Minister who has a prison ministry, and ask same to take you on a tour of the prison where he/she ministers. I'm sure you would be enlightened and come away with a different perspective. Those folks on Death Row pray for that final 'Needle' that ends their miserable existence.

Zoobie, meet a young man at the nursing home last night and we talked for a long time. I plan on doing a blog on his story. He agreed.
He was robbed of $4 and shot in the back. It severed his spinal chord and left hem paralyzed. What makes this story really sad is the guys that did it got off even though the victim knew the shooters face from living in the neighborhood.
What bother's him is that he worked all his life and never asked for any help and for a lousy $4 bucks he has to ask all the time.
He's serving a life sentence while the perp's are still sucking in free air. It just goes to show one how screwed up life really is.
