PHOTO: Firefighters Rescue Driver Trapped in Overturned Car
The Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company was critical in the rescue.
March 15 was a busy day for the firefighters of the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company—especially along the Interstate 695 corridor.
The morning began with a hay truck fire, which shut down the highway for at least an hour. The day ended in a rescue.
Lutherville engines responded again to the interstate—this time a little closer to home—at about 10:35 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found a blue sedan overturned—the result of an accident, according to LVFC.com. The driver was trapped inside near the Interstate 83 exit.
Firefighters—using equipment special to the Lutherville station—had to forcibly remove the roof to get the driver out.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
