A faded photo affixed to a cross and adorned with faux flowers is staked in a patch of grass, bordering the light rail tracks that cut through Lutherville-Timonium.

The photo depicts a young blonde boy. His name is Jeremy.

What happened to young Jeremy? I don't know.

The cross and photo have been there for longer than a year. How long? I don't know.

Tucked away, behind the flowers, planted next to the cross is an American flag.

I've driven past the cross hundreds of times, each time, imagining some far flung story about a mother who might visit the site of an accident.

But now I want to know. What happened to Jeremy? If anyone has information about the cross and photo, tell me. Tell us. Post a message in the comments or email me at nickd@patch.com.

Nick - just posted this to your FB page... 19 year old Jeremy Gulette... killed in 2000 when he drove around the warning gates to beat an oncoming light rail train... he only lived about a mile from railroad avenue (location of your photo)...

That's the innocence of young adults. They feel they are invincible. Risking their lives and they don't even realize what danger they could be in. Another life cut too short and his adult life was just really starting.

If I remember right, he had a girl with him, and it was close to midnight. I have always wondered if he was rushing to get her home before curfew.

I went to Dulaney with Jeremy on ninth grade. I didn't know him but I remember hearing had been removed from public school for erratic behavior. I would hear stories of bizarre and outrageous acting out in class. I Rene re when the light rail incident happened and have always assumed it was caused by mental illness I cant say for sure though.
