Storage Facility Theft Remains a Mystery
Still no leads in the ransacking of 85 units.
Baltimore County Police are continuing their search for suspects in a string of robberies of 85 units at the Timonium Self Storage facility on Greenspring Drive.
In the latest incident, Baltimore County police reported to the facility at 8:22 a.m. on Aug. 17 after they received a report of a burglary earlier that morning.
Cpl. Michael Hill, spokesman for the Baltimore County police, said the break-in occurred between 3 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. by an unknown number of suspects. The storage facility had been broken into twice before earlier in August.
Hill said 85 storage lockers were ransacked in three break-ins.
"They broke into one locker and got into the others by breaking through the drywall," Hill said.
The police are waiting for the storage unit owners to provide lists of missing property. BCPD officers will then take those inventories to local pawnshops.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
"It is hard to come up with a motive at this time, other then them being thieves," Hill said. "Maybe this is something that happened as a result of the bad economy."
Timonium Self Storage representatives could not be reached for comment.

I had everything in my room stored up here for a while not long ago. Yikes.

The vandals have been caught and were put in jail. They are actually being tried on May 12, 2011 for this and many other storage facilities that they did the same vandalism and theft acts to. Thanks to the devotion of Timonium Self Storage employees, they were able to catch the thief at another of their facilities red handed and caught him on camera. The owners and management of this facility take pride in their properties and take offense when the property or their tenants have been violated.
