The Band Perry, it was just announced, will be one of (at least) three headlining acts to performing at the 131st Maryland State Fair this summer.
"The Band Perry’s 'modern throwback' style, that combines classic country with an eclectic infusion of rock, gospel and soul sound, is reflected on their self-titled certified Platinum debut album THE BAND PERRY, as well as their second album due out later this year," according to a release.
The group was this year nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist, as well as the American Country Music Awards Vocal Group of the Year.
Tickets are $39 for general admission and $75 for VIP seating. More information about how to purchase tickets can be found on www.marylandstatefair.com.
Maryland State Fair officials said they hope to announce the second headlining musical act next week. The final band will be announced June 1, according to state fair spokeswoman Edie Bernier.
The 11-day festival runs from Friday, Aug. 24 through Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, from noon to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends, according to a release. Admission is only $8 for adults, $6 for seniors ages 62 and older, and $3 for children 6-11 years old. Children 5-years-old and younger are admitted free. Rides are individually priced, the release goes on to say.
