The Great Escape: Ladies Night Out at Hot Pots

Patch finds a fun parents' night out each week so you can keep your babysitters employed!

Feeling creative? Fire up your painting skills while Hot Pots fires up its kiln.

Ladies Night Out is on Thursday evenings at Timonium’s Hot Pots, at 39 West Aylesbury Rd, from 6 to 9 p.m. At Hot Pots, you select your unfinished bisque pottery piece, whether it be a large classy pitcher or a cute little model of a dog, and you paint it.

Paints are supplied by Hot Pots. Wine is supplied by you. Happily, Hot Pots is right next door to Fairground Plaza Liquors, so you can pop in and buy whatever bottle of bubbly you’re in the mood for, without planning ahead. Superfresh is also in the same shopping center, so go ahead and get some snacks, too.

Reservations are not needed, but if you’re rounding up your whole Girls Gang, you might want to give them a call at 410-561-3035. “If you have a larger group, you can call ahead and just let us know you’re coming in,” said Megan Wilt, the manager at Hot Pots. “I’d say a group of six or more, just call ahead and let us know, so we can make sure we have one of the bigger tables available for you.”

Hot Pots glazes and fires your finished creation. “It’s ready one week from the day you finish it,” Wilt said. The paints, glazing and firing are all covered in the studio fee, which is half the cost of the pottery you select. So if you’re painting a $20 platter, be prepared to actually pay $40.

On Ladies Night Out, Hot Pots offers its bisque pieces for 15 percent off—another reason to grab your friends, your wine (leave the wine glasses at home— Hot Pots has those), and leave the kids with the teenager down the street.
