Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice has been confirmed as the second headlining act of the Maryland State Fair summer concert series, fairground officials announced Wednesday.
"Victoria Justice’s vocal talents are showcased on the Victorious soundtrack that debuted #5 on the Top 200 Charts and #2 on the Pop Charts in its first week," according to a release. "She has sold over 2 million downloads on iTunes. The 10-time Seventeen and Vogue Magazine cover girl, star in the Nickelodeon film The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, and guest on The View and The Ellen DeGeneres Show started appearing in commercials when she was only 8-years-old."
The concert will be held Friday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Maryland State Fairgrounds Racetrack Infield. Tickets are $34 general admission, $75 for Silver Circle VIP, and $194 for Gold Circle VIP. Tickets go on sale May 19 at 10 a.m.
Justice joins The Band Perry, who was announced last week as the first confirmed act of the concert series.
“I've been waiting for this for a long time ... can't wait to see the fans and all my friends across the country. The crowd can look forward to hearing all their favorites from the show and I'll also be doing some covers of some of my favorite songs,” Justice said in a release. “Can't wait to see everyone dancing and singing along with me. I want to make my ‘Make It in America’ summer tour one to remember!”
State Fair organizers seem to be following a similar pattern in booking talent from country, pop and rock 'n roll genres.
The Band Perry's classic country, rock-infusion brand of music is in line with Blake Shelton and Gretchen Wilson, who performed in 2011 and 2010, respectively.
