Baltimore, MD – The Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc., has awarded a $10,000 grant to Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. Last year, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation contributed over $200 million to address critical issues facing neighborhoods and communities throughout the United States.
The $10,000 grant will be used to provide hunger relief and food security to low-income homebound, frail and elderly seniors in Baltimore City through their home-delivered meal program.
Founded in 1960, Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is a nonprofit organization that enables homebound seniors and disabled individuals to eat well and remain in their own homes in Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery & Prince George’s counties. A dedicated staff and volunteer core prepare and deliver over 740,000 nutritious meals each year. The organization also provides grocery shopping and other community connections to help individuals maintain their independence and age with grace and dignity.
