Host Professional from Belarus

From August 8th until August 27th, the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI) in Baltimore will host 9 Trade Union professionals from Belarus. We are looking for home stay families to welcome these professionals for the 20 days they will spend in Maryland. The program is sponsored by the US Agency for International Development (US AID) and aims at introducing professionals from the former Russian Republics with little exposure to western values and principles of democracy to American culture and best practices. The visitors are in their 30s and 40s and are eager to learn about various trades, training, unionization, and best practices in negotiations.

We encourage anyone and everyone interested in this opportunity to be a home stay family. All you need is a spare bedroom for your guest and the willingness to learn about them and give them the opportunity to learn about you. Although guests will be out of the house during the day, you will need to provide them breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. WTCI will take them out as a group for dinner once a week and will also organize out of town trips to NYC and Washington, D.C. We also arrange the daily transportation. A stipend of $250 per visitor hosted will be provided. Families of all backgrounds and sizes are encouraged to apply!
