Third Annual "Call to ACTCion: 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk to Fight Hunger"

Rise and shine to take part in the third annual "Call to ACTCion: 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk to Fight Hunger" Saturday, June 7 at 8 a.m., on the scenic Goucher College campus in Towson, 1021 Dulaney Valley Road (check-in 7-7:45 a.m.). Bigger and better than ever, there will be runners from the Cockeysville Rec Council Cross Country team; participants from West Towson Elementary School's "Girl Power" program, some partnering with students from Ridge Ruxton Elementary School; in addition to contenders from running clubs and many churches. As a bonus attraction, Smoothie King from the Dulaney Valley Shopping Center will be on hand to give out free samples. In addition to race T-shirts and prizes for participants, there will be many fun and useful giveaways. All proceeds benefit the Assistance Center of Towson Churches, an ecumenical organization that provides emergency food for the needy in our neighborhoods, as well as many other services.
