Epiphany Episcopal Church Hosting National Night Out Celebration

In commemoration of National Night Out, Epiphany Episcopal Church is hosting a street fair.

The event, also called America's Night Out Against Crime, began in 1984 as a way to build relationships between the police and community members, promote involvement in crime prevention activities and show a united front against crime, according to the National Association of Town Watch website.

The free street fair will run at the church, 2216 Pot Spring Road, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.  Games, prizes, information of safety and food will be featured.

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department, Texas Fire Department, Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Department, Target, Neighbor to Neighbor, United Healthcare, Mixed Grooves, Lite 102FM and other partners will be attendance.

"The goal is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back," said organizer Jennie Fumarola in an email. "It’s also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors even better."
