Here's a roundup of family-friendly activities for you to try this weekend.

OLD FASHIONED WEENIE ROAST AND NIGHT HIKE

 When/Where: Saturday May 14, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at 2175 Cromwell Bridge Rd, Baltimore. 

Why Go: Add some sizzle to your spring evening. Roasting hot dogs and firing up marshmallows will warm you up for the second part of the evening, where you will set off on a discovery nature walk sure to offer some amazing night sights. All ages welcome.

Prices: Call 410-887-2503. $3 members, $5 non-members. (Reservations required.)

 

 HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD 

When/Where:  May 14, 15, 21, 22, at 1 and 3 p.m. at Ruxton Towers, 8415 Bellona Lane, Suite 115, Baltimore, MD 21204. 

Why go: It's a delightful musical farce that will surely reflect your own family's experiences. The characters learn such useful skills as how to beg their parents for a dog, the best techniques in driving your sister crazy and how to act after serving a time-out in your room. It's a fast-paced show with familiar tones for adults and children alike. 

Price: $12 in advance, $14 at the door.

DUTCH WONDERLAND 

When/Where: Weekends in May, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2249 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602 (about 90 minutes from Baltimore) 

Why go: It’s the beginning of amusement park season when spring arrives. Take advantage of the short lines and fewer people before summer crowds descend. There are 30 rides at Dutch Wonderland, including two new ones this season: Leap Frog and Kite Flight. There are also water rides, kid-friendly roller coasters and a merry-go-round.  

Price: Ranges between $10 - $25.

AROUND-THE-WORLD EMBASSY TOUR

When/Where: Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various locations across Washington, D.C.

Why go: With more than 30 embassies covering six continents inviting the public to sample fantastic experiences, you will have the chance to learn about the world in a day. Food, art, dance and music fill the programs for your pleasure. Free shuttle buses will transport visitors along the route.

Price: Free.

BABY LOVES DISCO 

When/Where: May 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Towson Town Center.

Why Go: ("On the waves of the air/There is dancin' out there/If it's somethin' we can share/We can steal it" ~ Bee Gees). It's a disco dance party for the youngest generation in your house. DJs are busy mixing classic disco tunes and the latest family-friendly (rated G) dance tracks. Your kids will move and groove and get the wiggles out.
