ShopRite Provides Outlet For Sandy Donations

ShopRite has set up an online donation initiative for disaster relief.

ShopRite is making giving easier this Thanksgiving season.

ShopRite Supermarkets Inc., which operates 32 groceries in New York and New Jersey, was hit particularly hard by Superstorm Sandy. The brand has been updating its Facebook page in the wake of the storm with information about ways to help and the status of dozens of stores that lost power during the storm.

The grocery co-op/chain has in the last two weeks donated thousands of meals and non-perishable items to local food banks, as well as pledged up to $1 million in relef efforts, according to its Facebook page.
