The annual Maryland State Fair opens an 11-day run with a 4-H/FFA Market Lamb Show at 8 a.m. in the Sheep Barn. Other activities include a pony performance, poultry show, exhibitis, the state fair museum, goat show; kitchen craft cooking; home arts demonstrations, and evening entertainment. There are also nightly rides on the Midway and weekend thoroughbred horse racing. Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for seniors; $3 for children ages 6 to 11, and children 5 and under are admitted free.
