Break out your snow boots and holiday shopping list, Kennedy Krieger Institute’s annual Festival of Trees is back. From Friday, Nov. 25 to Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, the Maryland State Fairgrounds will deck their halls in holiday style for a three-day holiday extravaganza. Only a car ride away, Santa invites everyone to attend the region’s one-stop-shop for the holiday season.
A family tradition since 1990 and the largest holiday event on the East Coast, this year’s Festival of Trees will feature a dreamland forest of more than 600 decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses. For three days only, the Maryland State Fairgrounds transforms into a winter wonderland with the ever-popular train garden, hourly live family entertainment and SantaLand’s crafts and carnival games for children ages 1 to 92. Additionally, Festival of Trees will feature more than 100 gift boutiques and a silent auction, making it the best place to kick-start your holiday shopping season.
The raffle at this year’s Festival of Trees features a once-in-a-lifetime prize: Super Bowl XLVI tickets and travel accommodations! Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event or online at www.festivaloftrees.kennedykrieger.org during the month of November.

Attendees and Institute supporters can also start their own online Happy Holidays FUNdraising page to raise money for Kennedy Krieger. For every $10 raised to support the children and families of the Institute, supporters will receive one free ticket to Festival of Trees.
Proceeds from Festival of Trees benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute, appropriately marking the beginning of the holiday season by giving the gift of hope to the thousands of children treated at the Institute.
