PHOTO OF THE DAY: Struck By Inspiration (and Lightning)

Pictures from last night's thunderstorm.

And you thought trying to get your kids to pose for a photo was hard.

Last night's crack and boom, though startling, did set the stage for a fun photo shoot from the vantage point of my apartment balcony in Lutherville.

I was using my Canon T2i (or 550D to some of you). I've never shot a lightning storm before, so critiques from photographers are always welcome.

Editor's Note: My colleague Brad Gerick, local editor for Bel Air Patch, has a budding second career as a professional storm chaser in the works. Brad has chased down three tornadoes in the last year alone. Last night he managed to get some great footage of the "epic" thunderstorm hovering over Harford County
