Pittler Withdraws Name From Appointment

Timonium resident cites health reasons for ending process to become an administrative law judge.

Leslie Pittler has removed his name from consideration for an appointment as one of three administrative law judges in Baltimore County.

Pittler, 73 and a resident of Timonium, was expected to come up for confirmation before the County Council Monday night. The confirmation vote never occurred and his name was quietly removed from the agenda.

"He removed his name for health reasons,"said Council Chairwoman Vicki Almond, speaking after the meeting.

Pittler, in a phone interview Monday night, spoke about his health privately with a reporter but said he did not wish to discuss it for publication.

Pittler was expected to fill the vacancy left by Tim Kotroco, who left the job in May for a position with the law firm.

Pittler was to work part-time as opposed to Kotroco's full-time position and earn about $60,000 annually—about half the pay for a full-time administrative law judge.
