BIRD WATCHING: Ravens Spotted in Town

The Ravens have begun migrating North for the start of the season -- the start of the NFL season, that is. 

The entire Baltimore Ravens cheerleading squad held a meet, greet and signing session at Hightopps Backstage Grille in Timonium, Wednesday night.

"We just love to feed off of the excitement that the fans give us. We try to get out into the community as much as possible to be with the fans. Especially since we'll be on the road the first three games of the season, we just want to get everybody hyped up and excited," spokeswoman Heather Blocher said.

Hundreds of fans lined the inside of the restaurant for the 2010-2011 Swimsuit Calendar and a chance to meet the ladies who were featured in its pages.

"Hightopps is a great venue. You have the outdoor porch. There's tons of room here. It's a fun atmosphere. Lots of music. Lots of people. Plus it gets us out of the city and into the county to see fans that we don't normally see downtown," Blocher said.

One of the team's "ultimate fans" made an appearance Wednesday night. Greg Mullinix, better known as "Game Day Greg" was almost a bigger spectacle than the cheerleaders.

The Perry Hall native came prepared, dressed from head to toe in Ravens gear. His Ray Lewis jersey was accented with several purple-bead necklaces. His team cap was studded with Ravens pins and his face was painted with the signature purple, white and black team colors.

"I just go around supporting the Ravens wherever they are. I also do charity work all around Maryland, along with parades and stuff like that with the team," Mullinix said. 

Other fans like Kristofer Brzowsky showed up with more straight forward intentions. Brzowsky, a long-time fan came for, "good look women, good drinks and good food," he said while waiting in line. 

The Ravens Cheerleader team will be at Power Plant tonight, Thursday, and Miss Shirley's Café tomorrow.
