Turns out if you're into horse racing and looking for a 2-year-old in training, the answer is less than 30 seconds.

Fasig-Tipton, the Kentucky-based horse auctioneer with stables and a showroom at the , is showing 440 horses at its mid-atlantic auction today and tomorrow.

Fasig-Tipton sold 418 horses over its last two-day auction in December for about $4.4 million, according to archives. In 2011, about $46 million was spent on horses in Timonium at Fasig-Tipton auctions.

Two-year-old filly A Successful Appeal, was the fastest worker at a preview race at the fairgrounds track last week, according to the Daily Racing Form. A Successful Appeal ran a furlong in 9.8 seconds.

The fairgrounds see three auctions a year and, "we’ve had Preakness winners sold here," said fairgrounds president Howard "Max" Mosner. "Fleet Alex was sold here for $75,000 and won the Preakness the next year.”
