Toast Ray Lewis' 'Last Ride' at Kooper's North

The Timonium restaurant/bar is offering a host of "52"-themed specials, including a fundraiser for the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation.

It's become old hat here on Patch to post restaurant and bar specials ahead of big games or special holidays.

But never—at least in our time—has a bar set aside a day of specials and a fundraiser dedicated to just one player.

Kooper's North is marking Sunday as a special tribute day to the one and only Ray Lewis, who announced that this will be his "last ride" with the Baltimore Ravens, earlier this week.

"We invite you to celebrate the legacy of the greatest linebacker in the History of Football in his last ride," reads the invitation from Kooper's. "The 10-time All-Pro, 13-time pro-bowl linebacker, Superbowl XXXV MVP and two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is for us the symbol of passion, hard work and generosity."

Kooper's North, located at 12240 Tullamore Road, opens its door extra early on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. and will be offering:

  • A $5.20 breakfast buffet
  • 52 cent oysters on the half shelf
  • $5.20 Passion 52s (that's Champagne and Chambord)
  • $5 for two Miller Lites until 10 a.m.

Did you notice the trend?

After 10 a.m., normal brunch picks up with $12 bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas until 2 p.m.

As if that weren't enough, Kooper's will be donating 52 percent of the profits raised Sunday to the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation.

Also, our friends at WJZ-13 will be on hand at Kooper's shooting live at 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. So be sure to wash away the bags under your eyes if you plan on tailgating.

The Baltimore Ravens take on the Indianapolis Colts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6. Where will you be watching the game?
