WBAL: No Changes Planned for Maryland State Fair After Indiana Incident

A stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair last week. The Maryland State Fair begins Aug. 26.

The Maryland State Fair concert series will proceed on schedule, without changes, as a national trend has fair organizers reexamining their safety strategies, according to WBAL's Anne Kramer

Fair organizers have started taking a look at the safety infrastructure of performances after a stage collapsed, killing three and injuring at least two dozen.

"Safety is not something we take lightly. It is not taken for granted," Fair President and General Manager Howard "Max" Mosner told Kramer in an interview.
