High Bacteria Levels Close 3 Baltimore County Beaches

Baltimore County officials are closing three local swimming venues because of high amounts of bacteria.

The Baltimore County Department of Health has determined that Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center, Beaver Dam Swim Club and Oregon Ridge Park beaches are unsuitable for swimming, according to a news release. The recent heavy rainfall in the area has been cited as the reason for the elevated bacteria counts.

Officials are continuing to monitor water quality at local beaches and updates can be found on the Baltimore County website.
