SHOW US YOUR PHOTOS: Maryland Brewer's Oktoberfest

Just because Patch was denied access, doesn't mean we can't show your photos!

There's a first time for everything: I was denied access to an event by a man wearing lederhosen

After I attempted to enter the Maryland Brewer's Oktoberfest Saturday afternoon as a reporter, a representative with the event said I couldn't get in because of a series of .

Now we need your help! (See below.)

It's not as if that was all we wrote about last year's festival. They seem to have forgotten we put together featuring many of the local breweries that were featured at the show.

"We do not recognize you as a member of the media," said Greg Nevins, president of the Trigger Agency, the company who hosts the annual beer celebration.

Two men were stabbed by an Oktoberfest patron after the show in 2010. Police said alcohol may have played a factor in the unprovoked attack, which took place at the Cow Palace on the fairgrounds property. The victims had to be rushed to the hospital.

"We do not comment on public issues that take place on or about the property, we are not representatives of the Fairgrounds," Nevins wrote in an email after the event last year . "This incident took place at the Fairgrounds at another event / another building and after our event was closed.

"The mystery behind this very unfortunate incident rests with Mr. Nicholas Atkins, the alledged [sic] attacker.  Hopefully the victims will heal quickly and fully and if he is proven to be responsible that he will seek help."

To be fair, Nevins did say we could buy a ticket but any photograph or video of the copyrighted event that we took would have to be approved by him. No dice.

This is where you come in! Show us your photos! You can tag your photos to this post and show us all the fun that we missed.

Last year's attack  as fairgrounds organizers.

But after discussions between Trigger Agency representatives and fairgrounds administrators, this year's one day event was approved.

Fairgrounds president Howard "Max" Mosner told Patch Friday afternoon that the organizers exceeded his expectations in terms of safety planning for this year's event.
