Where to Celebrate Bastille Day in Baltimore

Notice an unusually high number of people wearing bérets and fake moustaches? It must be Bastille Day.

Bastille Day is commemorated on July 14, the day that the people of Paris stormed the Bastilleprison in 1789 and effectively began the violent overthrow of the monarchy to make way for a republic.

Similar to Independence Day in the United States, Bastille Day is a national holiday that marks the beginning of modern France.

If you can't make it to France anytime soon to partake in the celebration, here's a guide toBastille Day celebrations around the Baltimore metro area.

Bastille Day Celebration at Petit Louis Bistro

Celebrate with French music, complimentary chocolate tastings, gougère (French savory puffs) and vichyssoise (chilled potato leek soup) in a Parisian influenced settinga Parisian influenced setting. CHOUX, the newest expansion of Ma Petite Shoe showcases French pastries and a new take on fresh salads showcasing the neighborhoods of Paris

Each of the shops will have its own specials, including local farm goat cheese and blueberries and cream. It will also be the second anniversary of the Owings Mills location.
