2 More Women’s Groups Announce Mizeur Support

The Maryland National Organization for Women Political Action Committee and Feminist Majority are backing Del. Heather Mizeur's candidacy for governor.

Del. Heather Mizeur, who would be Maryland’s first woman and openly gay or lesbian person if she wins election, received the backing of Maryland National Organization for Women Political Action Committee and Feminist Majority. 

"I could not ask for better partners than Maryland NOW PAC and Feminist Majority as we move Maryland toward a more progressive future," Mizeur said in a news release. "I look forward to working together on expanding women’s health coverage, increasing access to affordable child care, and ensuring economic equity."

Maryland NOW PAC has 10 chapters throughout the state “works to eliminate discrimination in the workplace and schools, secure reproductive rights for women, and end violence against women.” Feminist Majority in a national organization that seeks to “empower women economically, socially and politically.”

“It’s time for Maryland to break the glass ceiling and have a woman as Governor, and they could not have a better option than HeatherMizeur,” Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization for Women said in a news release. “She is deserving of MD NOW PAC’s support not just because she is a woman, but because of her vast policy-making experience, her willingness to never settle for the status quo, and constant focus on improving communities.”

In December EMILY’S List, a national group that seeks to elect pro-abortion rights female candidates, also announced that it is backing Mizeur’s bid for governor.
