The Divalicious Joyce J. Scott in Concert

Common Ground on the Hill presents Baltimore’s own Divalicious Visualand Performance Artist of International Renown, Joyce J. Scott, celebrating American voices old and new. Known as one of Baltimore’s most important and influential artists, Scott is celebrated for her beadwork but also excels as a gospel, blues and jazz singer, performer, writer and educator. Just back from a residency at the Berengo Glass Studio in Venice, Scott is securing her stance as a successful visual and performance artist. In 2012 she visited Italy, created a 30 years theatre reunion with Kay Lawal as the Thunder Thigh Revue, exhibited art around the country and is leaving her stay as an artist in residence at the McColl Center for the Visual Arts in Charlotte, NC, to perform in her home town, just for you. Scott is joined by celebrated local jazz musicians Jesse Moody on drums, Mitchell Coates on bass, and Derrick Thompson on keyboards.
