Man in Custody After Brief Barricade Situation

The reportedly suicidal suspect was taken in at about 10:30 a.m.

Police have a man in custody following a “brief barricade situation” Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Cockeysville, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton.

The suspect, a 56-year-old man, was reportedly suicidal and threatening to hurt himself, Batton said.

"Guns were found inside a closet in the home but the subject did not have the weapons near him," Batton wrote in an email.

Numerous police cruisers and other emergency vehicles were stationed at Dulaney Springs Park, just blocks away from the unit block of Kings Crossing Court where suspect lived in an apartment. (See photos)

The man was taken in without incident at 10:39 a.m., and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No charges are pending against the man at this time, Batton said.
