Lutherville Homes Struck by Daytime Burglaries

Two homes in Lutherville were burglarized on Thursday, according to incident reports. 

Now police are asking for the public to be on the lookout for an early to mid-2000s model black Volkswagen Beetle with some type of ball on the antennae.

“Yesterday we had two daytime burglaries on the south end of Precinct 7,” wrote Lt. Robert McGraw. “They occurred on Tallyho Road and Kellogg Road. A neighbor saw a white or light skinned black male with a chin strap beard go in and out of the house at approximately 10:45 a.m."

“He was seen driving a 2001-2007 VW beetle, black in color with some type of ball on the antennae,” McGraw continued in his email to area residents. “Jewelry was the main thing taken. We are increasing Patrols in the area. If you observe anything suspicious please call 911.”

Daytime burglaries have been an throughout the Lutherville-Timonium area. It is unclear if the same person is responsible for both crimes, according to police.

Incident Reports: 

Tally Ho Road, 8300 block, between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 2. Jewelry was stolen from a Lutherville home, after a burglar broke inside by smashing through the rear sliding door. 

A neighbor witness described the burglar as a mostly bald, light skinned black man or white man with a chinstrap beard, wearing a white pullover and jeans, according to the incident report. 

Kellogg Road, 800 block, between 12:50 and 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 2. It is unknown what was taken from a Lutherville home, which was broken into and ransacked Thursday. The burglar broke in by smashing the glass to the rear basement door.
