Lutherville Man to Plead Guilty to Child Pornography, Marijuana Charges

A Lutherville man is expected to plead guilty Monday on charges related to child pornography and marijuana, according to assistant state's attorney Thomas Tompsett. 

Richard Wayne Poehlman, 61, was after police discovered he had allegedly been using his . Police subsequently found an extensive marijuana growing operation in two rooms of his home during the raid, court documents show. 

“He hasn’t signed the agreement yet, but he is going to plead guilty,” Tompsett said. An appearance is scheduled for Monday in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

Poehlman, who was possession and distribution of child pornography as well as possession and intent to distribute marijuana, will likely see jail time, Tompsett added. 

Six charges in total carry a maximum penalty of 26 years in prison and $58,500 in fines, according to court documents.

Ira Charles F. Rigger, 56, of Cockeysville, was also arrested—within two weeks of Poehlman— on similar charges. The former owner of the Padonia Park Club  in prison for four separate child pornography charges in July. Rigger will serve 18 months in prison and will have to register as a sex offender, online court records show
