Lutherville-Timonium Crime: Maryland State Fairgrounds Burglarized

Gurteen Court, unit block, between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 30. A gold cross “covered with many diamonds” and a pad of new checks were stolen from a local condominium. A neighboring resident heard footsteps in the apartment next door, which would normally be unoccupied at the time.

The victim was at work during the break-in. Shortly after the neighbor noticed the foot steps, the suspected burglar rang the neighbor’s doorbell. Startled by the neighbor, the burglar ran out of the building, fleeing in a “newer white SUV,” according to the incident report. It is possible that the burglarized apartment was unlocked. The suspect was described as male in his 30s, about 6-foot-2, approximately 180 pounds.

Farnham Way, unit block, between 8 p.m. on Dec. 23 and midnight on Dec. 24. A 24-inch inflatable penguin Christmas ornament was stolen from a resident’s front yard.

York Road, 1200 block, between 10:42 and 10:46 p.m. on Dec. 28. A burglar broke into the Greater Chesapeake Surgery Center with a rock, shattering the front window. Once inside, the burglar pried open desk drawers, although it appears nothing was stolen.

York Road, 2200 block, between 4 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 10:01 p.m. on Jan. 1. A burglar broke into a building on the property. The burglar broke the front glass to the building and reached the lock on the other side in order to gain entry. Police indicated there was damage to side of an ATM machine in the building.

York Road, 2200 block, at 1:02 a.m. on Jan. 1. A Cannondale Racing Bike, valued at $2,000, was stolen but later recovered by police. The burglar cut through the rear fence to the He then broke out the rear window of the Exhibition Hall on the fairgrounds property and stole the bicycle. A patrol officer spotted the suspect behind the Exhibition Hall and gave chase. The officer lost sight of the suspect who was not located, although police recovered the bike.
