Lutherville-Timonium Crime: Multiple Robberies Reported at Retirement Community

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Pot Spring Road, 2500 block, between 5 p.m. and 5:55 p.m, Dec. 9. Four pairs of earrings, $500 in cash, a locket with “LSS” engraving and gold cameo were stolen from an apartment in the Mercy Ridge Retirement Community. The suspect fled the location in a Ford Expedition. He was described as a male in his 30s, 5-feet-10, with dark hair. The victim, an 83-year-old man, discovered the suspect in his home. The suspect stated he was a maintenance employee, but ran out when asked for ID. 

Pot Spring Road, 2500 block, between 5 and 5:45 p.m., Dec. 7. Steiff Brand Silverware and $200 in cash were stolen from a home belonging to a 89-year-old woman in the Mercy Ridge Retirement Community. There were no signs of forced entry. (It is unconfirmed at this time if the above incidents arerelated.) 

York Road, 1200 block, at 9:28 p.m., Dec. 6. A burglar attempted to pry open the front door of a . The dentist was in his office at the time of the attempted break-in. He notified police of the burglar’s presence, but cancelled the emergency call as police were en route.

York Road, 1200 block, between 5:30 and 9:52 p.m., Dec. 6. A burglar set off the interior alarm  after shattering the front window in order to get inside. Nothing was reported stolen. The incident occurred at a separate dentist from the previous one reported, but at the same address.

York Road, 1200 block, between 5:30 and 9:52 p.m., Dec. 6. About $100 in cash was stolen from a local sports rehab facility. The burglar pried open the front door after smashing the door’s glass panel. The burglar tore through the office, taking the money from a cash box. The house safe was also pried open but nothing was inside.

Greenspring Drive, 1900 block, between 5:30 p.m. , Dec. 2 and 7 a.m., Dec. 5. Five catalytic converters were disconnected and stolen from cars parked at . The burglar used bolt cutters to cut through a chain-link fence in order to gain access to the parking lot.  

Misty Wood Circle, unit block, between 7:30 a.m. and 2:27 p.m., Dec. 5.Two Nikon cameras, one Kodak camera, one Samsung camera and $700 in cash were stolen from an apartment. The intruder gained entry by unknown means.
