Timonium Resident Among 5 Performers Killed in Texas Crash

Amanda Starz was one of the victims identified in the crash on Monday night in Amarillo, TX.

Timonium resident Amanda Starz was identified as one of the five members of a popular summer musical production who were killed Monday night in a crash with an 18-wheeler in Amarillo, TX, an official told the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Their vehicle pulled in front of the southbound truck and was hit broadside on the passenger's side, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Christopher Ray told AP.

All five were pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Their ages were not immediately available.

The members of the cast of "Texas"—an outdoor musical drama at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park south of Amarillo—were returning from an end-of-the-year party when the accident occurred, Ray said.

The victims killed in the wreck include Clinton Diaz of Amarillo, TX; Andrew Duncan of Wichita Falls, TX; Amanda Starz of Timonium; Julian Arredondo of Haltom, TX; and Eric Harrison of Fort Worth, TX, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed to Amarillo Globe-News.

"Our 'Texas' family is hurting," artistic director Dave Yirak posted on his Facebook page, according to Amarillo Globe-News. "From season 1 to present day the strength of our show has been the wonderful, creative, talented and loving performers who have graced the Pioneer Amphitheater stage. This love has created a large family that binds us together and it is this family that we will all reach out to for strength to endure this loss."
