The Baltimore County Council wants to regulate Hookah bars.
A bill asking the Planning Commission for the best methods to define and regulate the bars is scheduled for a final vote on Monday, according to the county’s website.
Hookahs are water pipes that flavored tobacco is smoked from.
The bars are able to operate through a loophole in state laws banning smoking indoors.
According to the legislation, the county is addressing the Hookah bar issue because they’re becoming more popular in the county.
