O'Malley Headed to Ohio, Florida and Texas

The Maryland governor aims to help Democrats elect governors in those states.

Gov. Martin O’Malley travels to Florida, Ohio and Texas next month to back Democrats running for governor in those states as he continues to contemplate a run for the White House in 2016, according to The Washington Post

O’Malley has made regular trips fundraising for Democratic candidates during his time as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association. But trips outside the state have been garnering more attention as speculation increases about the two-term Maryland governor’s aspirations for higher office.

Although it appears that O’Malley’s presidential aspirations, like other Democrats, will depend on former-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s decision on whether she will run again. O’Malley backed Clinton’s unsuccessful bid for the presidential nomination in 2008.

But even if Clinton decides not to run O’Malley would still have his work cut introducing himself to voters in early primary and caucus states.

A poll in May found O’Malley dead last in a field of six potential candidates. O’Malley received 0 percent support from New Hampshire Democratic voters, according to the New England College poll.
