Sheriff’s Union Approves Baltimore County Contract

The union members will receive a 3 percent bonus.

Baltimore County has agreed to a contract with the union that represents Sheriff’s deputies guaranteeing a 3 percent bonus.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 25, which represents 75 members, approved the new contract 56-3 last week, according to a news release.  

In addition to the bonus the new contract provides a 3 percent cost of living increase and a an agreement that employees will not be furloughed or laid off through fiscal year 2016.

"I so incredibly proud of our employees," Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in the news release. "At a time in our nation when there is so much discord, it is very gratifying to have County employees who are willing to work together for the good of the entire County.  We really do have outstanding employees serving the people of Baltimore County."   

The county has recently announced a string of new contracts with labor groups including AFSCME, the Police Executive Corps and the Baltimore County Federation of Public Health Nurses.
